Navigating therapy for can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Our FAQ section is here to guide you, answer your questions, and help you feel confident about taking the next step.

How much does a session cost?Sessions are 60 minutes long and $140 per session.

What should I expect in the first therapy session?The first couple of sessions are focused on completing the intake assessment and gathering information about your physical and mental health, barriers to functioning, and goals.

How long does a therapy session last?Sessions are 60 minutes. Please note that sessions start and end on time to respect other clients' appointments.

How often should I meet with you for sessions?It depends on your goals, needs, and financial situation. It is helpful to meet more frequently at the beginning, as the focus of the beginning is to complete the intake assessment and learn more about you and your goals. Session frequency can change over the course of therapy.

Can I use insurance coverage?You may be able to use insurance coverage for sessions. You will need to check with your insurance providers for coverage of Occupational Therapy/Psychotherapy services. Please reach out if you have additional questions regarding insurance coverage.

Are sessions online or in person?Sessions are offered virtually and in person. In-person sessions are held at the Healing Collective at 2005 Danforth Avenue. The office is near Woodbine Station. Please note that in-person sessions are only offered on Wednesdays (between 9 am-9 pm) and Sundays (twice a month).

How many sessions do I need?It depends on your goals, needs, and financial situation. If there are financial considerations that limit the number of sessions, we can work together to prioritize goals and target areas that are impacting your overall functioning the most. We can also discuss how many sessions you may need during our consultation call.

How can I set up a consultation? Do I need to prepare anything?Feel free to reach out via the contact form or email therapywithkrupal@gmail.com to schedule a consultation call. You can bring any questions you have about working together might look like. We can also discuss your challenges, goals, availability for sessions, and logistics of sessions.

Where are sessions offered?In-person sessions are held at the Healing Collective at 2005 Danforth Avenue. The office is near Woodbine Station. Virtual sessions are provided to clients in Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. Please reach out to inquire about walk-and-talk therapy sessions (available in the summer). There may be additional travel costs associated with walk-and-talk sessions, depending on the location.

Do I need a referral to see an occupational therapist?No, you do not need a referral to meet an occupational therapist.

Do you offer services to children?At this time, services are offered to teenagers (14 years+) and adults.

How do I pay for sessions?We currently accept Interact e-transfers and credit cards. A detailed receipt will be issued following receipt of payment.

Do you offer direct billing?At this time, we do not offer direct billing.

Is occupational therapy covered by OHIP?OHIP does not provide coverage for private occupational therapy services.

Do I need to have a diagnosis of ADHD to work with you?No, we gather information about your goals and barriers during the first session. Regardless of your diagnosis, we work with your symptoms, challenges, and barriers.

Can you diagnose ADHD?Occupational therapists cannot provide a diagnosis. Please connect with your family doctor for a referral to a psychiatrist. You can also check out the Resources page for more information about how to get assessed for ADHD.

How do we start working together?Use the contact form or email therapywithkrupal@gmail.com to set up an initial call and/or your first appointment. You will need to complete intake and consent forms prior to the first session.

What if I can't make it to my session?Please let us know if you can't make it to your session. There is a 48-hour cancellation policy. You will be charged the full session fee for late cancellations or missed sessions unless there are extenuating circumstances. The session time is reserved for you, and missed sessions cannot be filled at short notice. Please note that the cancellation fee for late cancellations can be waived if we can reschedule the session within a week.
